Just a quick update; SMUDS Execs have started the process of choosing plays this summer! We’re mostly looking at which one we’d want for first term (to be cast, rehearsed AND performed before Christmas Break). Have anything you think we’d particularly like? Why not e-mail one of us and pass it along? That’ll give us a wealth of plays to choose from! Please consider cast size, staging, length, availability (rights purchasing, etc) and other such things.
So, we’ve finally started to get things underway with the 2010 – 2011 school (and theatre) season, first with some updates to the site! Just so you know, I’m Kaleigh, the new Tech Executive and I’ll probably be making the majority of the updates this year.
So just be sure to keep checking back to the sites for updates to things like the Contacts, Pictures, Library and much much more!

SMUDS is pleased to announced the up-coming auditions for our March production, Romeo and Juliet, which will be directed by Keelin Jack. These auditions will take place on Wednesday November 25 and Thursday November 26th, from 7:30PM until 10PM. Auditions will take place in Loyola Academic 177.
No formal preparation is needed, although advance material will be available (email the secretary to get it) and a familiarity with the play would be helpful. There will be some gender flexibility in the casting as well.
Please book your auditions in advance by emailing the secretary, secretary@smuds.ca, with the day you prefer and a time range that will work for you. She will email you back with a specific time slot.
SMUDS is very pleased to announce that we are now putting on the production “My First Time,” an off Broadway show written by Ken Davenport. This production will take place in January and as it stands now, we are still doing another production in March and a collective. “My First Time” is being directed by Dayna Coles and we are holding auditions this week for roles. There are two male and two female roles however some of these MAY be broken down. We encourage everyone to come audition, we would love to see everyone there! These auditions are a cold read so just bring yourselves!

Friday October 16, 10:00 AM to 4:00PM (walk in or by appointment)

This year, SMUDS is kicking off the year with a general meeting we’re calling the Meet and Greet. It’s an opportunity for you to come and meet your executive face to face, and maybe meet a few other people who share the same interest; drama! This year, there will also be opportunity to sign up under whatever aspect of theatre interests you – acting, directing, costumes/make-up, set design, to name only a few. SMUDS has something for everyone and we hope to see many of you there.
The Meet and Greet is being held in the Private Dining Room (PDR) in Loyola Residence. It is a room just before the Loyola entrance to the cafeteria. The Meet and Greet will take place on Friday, September 25th from 5pm to 8pm. Coffee and tea as well as donuts will be available.
If you are no longer interested in being on this list, please reply and you will promptly be taken off (although we will be sad to see you go!).
